Xounds quit working on my new intel iMac about two weeks after install. I have been a registered user (of 3 haxies) for years, and I'm a bit surprised at their lack of support. I have contacted Unsanity numerous times for support with no reply at all. I read that they are slow to reply, but I think 2 months is a reasonable amount of time. Overall rating is 2 for this reason. Had they tried to help it would have been a 5 because I have never had any issues running their haxies.
I've tried to download the update from the LaCie site numerous times. The update downloads to a .sit file. I try to expand the .sit file, but nothing happens. stuffit launches for about a second like it's expanding the file, but it's like there's nothing in the .sit file...no update to apply.
BTW- according to the Lacie site you must run the LaCie update tool 1.3.3 BEFORE running this update...which I did...still nothing.
If anyone's been able to successfully run this update, please tell me what I'm doing wrong!
I have been using xounds since the beginning and had grown quite used to it. There used to be a Grateful Dead soundset that I really liked as well, in fact there may have even been two of them that I mixed & matched to my likings. Anyway my G5 iMac bit the dust & I bought a new intel iMac running Snow Leopard. I installed Fruit Menu, Windowshade X, and Xounds with no issues on the new machine. After about 2 weeks Xounds quit working. I have tried re-installing, repairing disc permissions, and every other trick I could think of or read somewhere to get it working again to no avail. I tried contacting Unsanity for some support at least 4 times over a two month span, and I have had absolutely ZERO response from them. It just really pisses me off when you're a loyal paying customer for years, and they just completely ignore my requests for a little help. I had gotten so used to xounds that I absolutely HATE not having it even if I couldn't run the Grateful Dead soundset. Anyone have any ideas on how to get it working again? Have a copy of the GD soundset? I'll pay ya!!
