Thanks for this. There are some other good free video conversion apps out there (mp4tools im thinking of), but subler makes me simply happy.
Im a bit of a video noob, and all i know is i want to change the wrapper around my videos so that they will play well on apple hardware. Subler just does this. I don't feel ever threatened that its going to reincode anything or do anything fancy (save the audio), which would require me to learn the meaning of some arcane preset. It just re wraps it, which is exactly what i want.
Would be great if it could work with other file extensions as the source.
While i absolutely agree and believe in the approach of keeping the server as light on resources as possible, perhaps the only reason to offer transcoding in some fashion is due to the fact that idevices have a really bad time at 1080p streamed.
PS3 handles 1080p just fine (network permitting) so would be a shame to duplicate/downconvert all my media.
Brilliant, thank you! Just like Apple forgot people using multiple monitors in lion, they also sadly forgot people using external mice and their scroll wheels.
The new natural settings makes sense for a track pad but are plain stupid for a mouse wheel.
This lets me use the trackpad with my left hand for swiping between spaces etc in the natural way, but use my mouse as it should be.
While Voila is very well featured, i think its more for the very casual/itunes crowd.
If you take a number of related screengrabs, actually use the annotation features, and want to switch between the images, the ui is frustratingly inefficient. For some reason, the list of images gets hidden while editing the image, and there's no way to get back to your screengrabs without clicking on the 'Organizer' tab, which of course prevents access to the editing tools, until you click the 'tools' tab again, which looses the organizer.
There are no keyboard shortcuts or toolbar customizations to cut down on this really painful tab switching also.
Voila has really powerful capturing tools, and should be commended on that, but definitely try before buying if you have a heavy workflow using annotations.
Just got my money. Quite glad i didn't purchase the more expensive bundle by another vendor recently that included Pathfinder.
I've tried Pathfinder and Forklift, there's one feature that TotalFinder uniquely has that makes your life significantly easier.. when you're in dual tab view, there's a sidebar visible for both sides. Quality of experience from this increased greatly.
Being on promo (and being better value than the other two), and free lion compatibility sealed the deal. Awesome!
Just a quick 5 star review and thankyou for this brilliant program.
It does exactly what i need, to set an alarm and have a dialog box displayed with a message, and also periodically make a beep as with digital watches.
The only improvement i could suggest is to consolidate the ui for the different alarms.. but hey, its free and works great.
Works great. Its amazing how much the menubar can be a distraction when your program window is maximised to take up the full screen. menueclipse fixes that quite well.
Would be good if the old icon menu from 2.0 was back.
I remember trying this app years ago when it was free :)) I just paid $2 for it though, so for that, i reckon a feature that actually hides the menubar for all applications would be a good thankyou from the developer, lol.
Hi, just a question regarding the upcoming osx lion a TotalFinder, it seems that with Lion coming out in a few months, was just wondering if the developer is planning a paid update required for compatibility when its released?
I noticed a couple of disclaimers on the TotalFinder website relating to dependencies in finder that made me interested in asking. Unlike other apps, a "previous version" that i may not have upgraded i'm imagining wouldn't be much good :)
I'm interested in purchasing a license, but if there will be a paid upgrade to add Lion compatibility will hold off until then.
