I originally bought Speed Download in a MacUpdate Promo Bundle back in december 09.
I finally installed the program a few week ago on my iMac, MBP and MBA. Yes I'm a power user with multiple computers. I have nothing bad to say about this program it self, I works well, has a good feature set, etc.
However, there is an important reason why I did remove it and wont use it anymore. I can't recommend it to anyone using more then one computer. I got an error message yesterday telling me that there was another program with the same serial number running and it closed.
99% of the programs that I am currently using have a more flexible licensing model. They usually allow a using to install the program on 2-3 computers own by the same person. I'm rarely using two computers at the same time but these programs can be running at the same time on the same network without problems.
The only exception to this is Aperture 3 and Speed Download. I can understand for Aperture and I'm ok with this. However, if I forget to shutdown SD on a computer before going ton the next on.... well, this is a pain in the B#% and just not worth my time.
Please reconsider your licensing restrictions... in the mean time I wont use it and recommend it anymore.
