TotalFinder

Stefano Cecere reviewed on 26 Apr 2012
totalFinder should be integrated in Apple's Fidner: i can't live anymore without the switch to show hidden dies, and the hotkey to slide out a multi tabbed Finder window!

BinaryAge is a really nice and smart little company.. deserves the few bucks for this utility (and check all the other FREE utilities it gives aside TotalFinder)

BBEdit

(using BBEdit since 10 year)

i'm staying with v 9.6
this v10 puts all the opened files in a small and fixed box on the bottom left.

have you ever been working with more than 10 files open?

at least leave an option to detach this list

..i guess too many developer are using Skype , in these months.. and their good and usable UI star going backwards :)

just wanted to correct my old review: i upgraded to v10.1
i still don't like try much the fixed small open documents mini list.. but all the other features (new and old) make BBEdit a good daily companion for a lot of activities.

thank you BBEdit, and happy birthday

MoneyWell

Stefano Cecere reviewed on 13 Feb 2012
i'm sorry.. this 2.0 made me search for serious alternatives (at the end i jumped into Moneydance)

2.0 has no usable reports. slow UI (on a high end Mac) with my 10 years data. very difficult management of budgeting (maybe it's more powerful than others.. but i can't find my way.. ah.. i've been using 1.7 for 2 years)

i'll keep an eye on this app.. but i guess Moneydance or Money suit better for me

Moneydance

Stefano Cecere reviewed on 13 Feb 2012
in last 8 years i've been using quite all money management OXS apps.. my latest was Moneywell 1.7... but was lacking reports.. the new 2.0 is a terrible step backward, so i've been looking for serious alternative.. i spent 15 days using quite all the usable (trial / demo) apps around.. and only Money (Jumsoft) and Moneydance arrived to the last round...
at the end i decided for Moneydance (better reports, much faster, more reliable).. i'll keep an eye on Money's next updates.. but if Moneydance keeps developing well, it could be a good companion for next years

Comic Life Magiq

Stefano Cecere reviewed on 13 Sep 2011
somebody should say that this product has been discontinued!

all Plasq efforts are going into Comic Life 2.0 (i just crossgraded from Magic to 2.0) and iOS versions!

and i'm very happy with 2.0 since Magic was really too slow and all advanced editing stuff wasn't really usable

WebStart

Stefano Cecere reviewed on 20 Apr 2011
i was looking for a good environment to develop PHP 5.3 applications on OSX... the VirtualBox solution was nice.. but too complex and slow.

then (within TYPO3 world) i discovered Webstart ... VERY WELL DONE PROJECT!

the developer is very good.. it took me a few hours to buy the license..

the only issues i had to think about was the migrations of mysql db.

the develoepr says webstart is already 10.7 ready.. so.. what do we need more?

ah: the autoupdating of all components is fantastic!

i really hope this project to become popular
