I've had positive feedback about this fix already, but the release of version 2.1.2 will be postponed until I get confirmation from the remaining users who reported this problem.
Thanks to anybody who helped me resolving this issue!

Version 2.1 uses a slightly different database format. Users of previous versions where notified about this via appcast.
About "unexpectedly do another without my permission": What did BackupLoupe do without your permission? BackupLoupe supports auto indexing of new snapshots, but you have to configure it. I agree that BackupLoupe could be faster. But keep in mind that it has to compare hundreds of thousands of files. And I invite you to compare BackupLoupe with competing products. You may find that BackupLoupe is not slow at all.
