A nice try but far behind iStat Menus, but then it's 1/3 the price of iStat Menus. Clutters the menubar too much, lacks color, cannot reposition an item in the menubar, no configurable clock.
Marcel generally makes high quality utilities, but this one lacks appearance and configuration features when compared to iStat Menus or even MenuMeters (for pure simplicity.)
I cannot criticize stability as I used it for a short period of of time. Not long enough to fully determine how stable it is. But while using it I observed no problems.
Ahh, finally updated. Installed in a Snow Leopard system for about an hour or two and it's working nicely. No crashes as yet. Nice to hear some noise for a change.
You may need to download directly from the developer's site as the download linked here is to the older version.
As much as I'm sure Black Cat has put a nice GUI to this, there's a completely free NEC program - CocoaNEC with a nice GUI. May not be as nice and you need to get documentation from the website, but it is free.
$29.95 seems a lot to charge for something that has been freely distributed for years in the Windows community.
I don't quite get the point of this program. Both MacUpdate and VersionTracker provide their own utilities for automatic tracking and downloading of Mac software.
I don't see how a Windows switcher would make a connection between Windows software and equivalent or similar Mac software.
Where's the automatic account download? Instead I get a dialog that says I have to manually download the data, and that the automatic downloading will be in a later version.
Clearly a bit of false advertising. Unless the product has its full complement of features it's a beta version for which there should be no charge.
All Intel Macs can boot from a USB device as well as Firewire. Most other Macs can only be booted from Firewire devices. Older iPods are Firewire devices.
