It's good. It's minimalist, and that is either a good thing or not a good thing. In my case, it's not a good thing: too many capabilities that I need are not available (I won't say "missing" because the developers clearly have a design goal for this app, and the features I need don't fit their minimalist plan).
One example: I must have the ability to set different archive folders across different accounts. That is, when receiving a message on account A, I need to be able to quickly and easily archive it to account B's Archive folder.
Second example: I use IMAP, but not GMail. I really need a tagging feature.
Apple Mail gives me both of these features (both 'bare' Mail and more efficiently with third-party plug-ins).
I like Sparrow, especially on the iPhone, and I want to use it on the Mac. But until the minimalist design adds just a few more features, it simply doesn't work for me.
I looked at this and at first thought, "No, I don't need to pay $5 for a copy/paste utility." Then I looked again and realized how useful it is as an easy shortcut for searching for searching on the web for some particular text. Usually that's a multi-step operation: select text, copy, switch to browser, make Find box active, paste, hit return. With PopClip I select text and click on the web search icon -- bam. Yeah, I can do the same thing with a KeyboardMaestro macro, but the beauty and elegance of PopClip is worth $5.
I don't use Forklift often, but when I do, I love it. I have a MacBook Air, so reduced storage, and keep large, old folders compressed. I use Forklift to view files inside those archives, and remove single files, without needing to uncompress the whole archive. Wonderful!

I'm finding this FREE update quite nice. Suits my needs well, it's fast, does NOT crash on my MacBook Air. I'm a happy camper!
