The QIM website now says its freeware, so do grab it while you can! However I just hope the developer will continue to develop it even if there is no income coming in. Hope to believe that though, since its coming from China!
I agree this app is overpriced. I registered when it was version 1.2 and at that time there was a dearth of such apps. When version 2.0 appeared I did not upgrade but continued to use 1.4
Lately I decided that 1.4 is really outdated and needed to upgrade. I compared NBZ Drop 2.04 to NBZ Vortex; both are great apps but decided on the latter not only because it is cheaper given comparative features but also because Ascar's support is non-existent. They have never replied my request for help both on their website and on email when I had problems with version 1.3.
This is a very good program when it works. I registered this last year and it was working for one and a half months. After I decided to forsake Easynews and added Newshosting and Newsguy, the multi-server feature that is supposed to work would queue all files even those that were downloading half way.
I wrote to Ascar Corporation twice, once on their website following a few weeks later by an email to the developer who had sent me the serial number. In neither case did I receive a reply. I have been waiting since.
Therefore be forwarn that if you buy a license there is no support although the deveoper's website claims otherwise.

A visit to the author's website only shows a window to retrieve your lost serial and not any support or developments in progress.
Looks like I have to write off what I paid since no update for Leopard is forthcoming.

Also, the price is way too high for this limited function app. I could use this app but am turned off by the price. Will make do with Energy Saver
