I have had this program for some time. Very nice and useful. However as I paid for it once I was expecting a discount with this next upgrade. Imagine my surprise to hear from the developer that I had to purchase it again at full price. This a new angle to me. Guess I will be looking for other software to do this job once my present version no longer works.
I understand that limitation. However, other developers of software I have that are also now in the ap store will continue to email me with upgrade discount options. So I know it is possible to do it that way.
I agree, it has changed. I probably like many others made some regretted purchases at the app store and learned my lesson. Now I am not buying anything unless I can demo it first. I think developers are learning this too and I see more options of trying and THEN buying in the Apple store.
I quite agree. That is what has happened to me in that I purchased something untried, sounded great, but was not really that much after all. A disappointment and no way to get a refund.
A surprise today in that I got an email from Cosmopod staff, telling me how to fix the problem. They said they had responded by email in the past, to all my emails but I never received any (and, no, they were not in my spam folder). So, a mystery as why I was not getting them. But I am happy that after al these months is working again.
Joe,
I can't figure out the reply function. If I click on the reply link on my message then the previous responses go up and disappear, like drawing a shade up. I just hit reply on this page where your comment is so we will see if that is different.
Regarding your advice, I do find the Cosmopod bundle in the Application Support folder and it has the correct date.
I have uninstalled and installed again but it does not fix the problem.
Could it have something to do with Simbl? Should I install that somehow?
I don't know why they don't respond to me. I have emailed 4-5 times over the last several months and never get a reply. Yesterday emailed and asked for my money back thinking it would stimulate a response, but nothing.
Joe,
Thanks again.
There is nothing in the "custom toolbar" to transfer. Simply not there.
Could be Safari, but on my MB Air, same Safari I think, Cosmopod shows up, just wont on my MB Pro.
I still can't get Cosmopod to work anymore. Have downloaded each update and installed several times. Have repaired permissions, emptied Safari cache, done whatever I can think of to make it work. Simply does not install.
Have emailed the developer several time, last time about a week ago. Never get a response.
I have been using Speed Download lite for several months. Have not been able to get it to work properly during this time. Once open, is fine, but will not open on its own and has to be manually opened. I have done many cleanup procedures, permissions, TechTool Pro, DiskWarrior, posted on the user forum about this. The developer asked me (twice) to list all the internet plugins and input managers for the system and also me as a user which I have done. Tedious but listed them all. The response was to remove some of them and SD will work for about 2 days and then once again will not open. If I post about this a third time then I will have to go through the same procedure - listing, eliminating, etc.
I have today removed it from my computer as too difficult and too time consuming to try to get it to work. Should not be this hard. Seems to me if there is some conflict somewhere (with input managers or internet plugins) there should be some info on this or some way to solve it without taking so much of my time. All in all, a frustrating experience.
Follow up on this post, a later date, using Snow Leopard and, of course, newer versions. Of late (last couple of months) SD now opening on downloads - most of the time. Now and then I have to manually start it but it seems to be working better. I am leaving it open most of the time too so maybe that is the difference. I like it's functions and this has been the biggest frustration to me. That is now will open a relief.
Lovely in its simplicity. Easy to use and to view on screen. I use a "paper" background to a page and it is very nice. I like the ability to format text. Only additional thing I would like is styling paragraphs so that I could have them, by default, indent and have space between them. I also have Ulysses (not used any more) and Scrivener (very nice program as well) but I find Diamond easy to open and use so use it more. The column format is great and makes working with text more accessible to me. I am very glad it has been shared.
I have looked at the custom toolbar many times. It is not there and it is not in the Window menu either. Strangely enough if I install once again, it indicates it is going to update, so it must be in there somewhere, but a search of my computer does not find it.
Here is what I have done to try to fix it.
1. Repaired permissions.
2. Run TechTool Pro.
3. Run Disk Warrior.
4. Emptied caches.
5. Started in Safe Boot and installed from there.
Nothing has worked. I think I will ask for my money back.
I tried this out but decided not to purchase. Followed directions to delete Ap to uninstall. Also deleted prefs but nonetheless, the button in the Safari browser will not go away. The button non-functional but still there. I have done a thorough search for it and looked at all plug-ins and can't find it. Just a warning that if you try it out there may be a troublesome modification of your browser.
