I just installed version 11.2.202.235 from the Adobe site and it didn't even mention that it was a beta! Assuming MU is correct... this is again incompetence on Adobe's part to list it as the newest update without informing its users that it is a beta.
It's been good to me... and since I don't have a landline... when my cellphone provider screwed up badly... Skype was there.
I don't know why some people give it such horrible reviews... especially when they don't give details. And giving it 1/2 star because the link didn't work... pathetic. It's not like the link was broke for a long time or there would have been many others who would have also mentioned it.
Can anyone say "Entitlement Nation".
This is free... and it works!
Wow... maybe it's not perfect... I'm an AppleSeeder and you don't even want to deal with what we put up with if a slightly too large window bothers you so you give it a horrible review.
I especially like being able to use the curves instead of sliders.
I had thought there was a problem with the app but it was actually simply allowing me to hear how badly some of my iTunes track were (i.e. I hadn't noticed it before because the iTunes Equalizer had muffled some of the digital noise).
A caveat... don't give up on this app because it takes some trial-and-error to achieve the best possible setting for your personal taste. It's worth the time... especially since you have 30 days to demo it (unlike the $%^$#% App Store's no demo policy).
I use Adobe Acrobat professionally and love it BUT... WT_ is Adobe doing making such a pathetic installer? This is BY FAR the worse installer for a major app that I have seen in many years (personally for me... ever). I just had to do an uninstall and reinstall to get it to update and Acrobat ended up in an INVISIBLE folder with a self created path consisting of many empty folders! WT_ F?!
Also.... what other app can you think of lists so many updates for one product on a single MacUpdate page? Answer... none! Why? Because anyone that's used Acrobat for years knows that sometimes you have to 'step' the updates. (i.e. unlike a combo installer to take you through numerous updates... if you've missed an update... you MAY have to install one at a time. Pathetic.
Again... Acrobat is an excellent app... it's just that the installers suck.
Pathetic... requirements says Mac OS X 10.6.4 but it won't work on 10.6.7... but it will work on 10.6.8... again pathetic for an update to skip versions like that.
Myst... to see if anything had changed... I erased one of my 10.6.8 partitions and copied 10.6.7 on to it. Then I did a fresh update online update. So far no wake-from-sleep problem.
Normally I like to use Combo updaters (for 10.6.8 also) and I had even went so far (after 10.6.8 came out) to do a virgin installation (starting from my original SL DVD and then updating to 10.6.8). I finally just got so fed up I stopped working on it. So... maybe it is now fine. I hope so (Rosetta, etc.) Thanks for the input.
However... now I have a very large number of permissions that refuse to be repaired after this Java update.
If Dropbox hangs or crashes your Finder (it did for me and there are posts that it has done this for other users)... especially when Control-clicking for contextual menus... substitute a locked textedit file for the DropboxPlugin.plugin (~/Library/Contextual Menu Items/DropboxPlugin.plugin) with the exact same name.
It would be much better, of course, if the authors simply allowed the user to either disable the plugin or trash it, but there is no preference setting that will disable it and the plugin recreates itself if it is deleted.
Console will show you that it is this plugin if your Finder is crashing...

First off... this is a great app!
Unfortunately version 5.9.5 broke the ability to scroll the layers of a Dock.
Also simply reverting to 5.9.4 would not allow this feature either UNTIL I had trashed all of the DragThing preference files.
Just a heads-up.
FWIW... I have never had this problem before with any of DT's updates.
No surprise to anyone that has used this app for any time at all is the fact that the developer very quickly emailed me as to how, with a couple clicks and an Apple script that he provided, I could restore the ability to scroll to change Dock layers in DragThing.
Great app and superb tech support!!
Thanks James.

I highly recommend this app.

Apple Java for Mac OS X 10.6

Apple really hates Java.

10.6.8 has major wake-from-sleep issues... and has been reported widely (Apple forums, etc.).
For me it has regularly not awakened and required me to do hard restarts.
This is not true for everyone I realize.
ONLY 10.6.8 has given me that problem in recent years. Before that it was all the way back when OSX 10 was first launched.

Oh well. You'd think I'd get used to this...
