Now X
Robarm commented on 09 Dec 2009
What a joy to find all these comments. I thought it was just me that was finding this software a pile of sh*t. Like others, I have been a regular user of Now Contact and Up to Date and, whilst the look and feel was quaintly nostalgic(remember OS 7?), it did all work. So I stuck with it and rather than go to v5.0, I thought I would stay with 4.5.1 until the snazzy new Nighthawk came out. And still I waited a bit when this became Now X. I've been around long enough not to go into major rewrites when still in the .0 version! So when 10.0.2 came along I paid my money. Well, it looks lovely, but what a mess! It won't even send a form letter to people. Call this a contact manager? When I discovered this huge defect."This is something on our list to implement. Look for it in upcoming releases." was their comment. Don't developers ever get real users to try things out?
So back to 4.5.1. Horror of horrors - none of the new contacts we had added whilst ploughing away trying to love Now X before the form letter problem was discovered, can't be exported into 4.5.1.
Rachel in the bugs dept at Now said to use 10.0.1 and export from that as Exporting to Text had been 'broken' in 10.0.2 - but that doesn't work either. AAARRRRGGGGHHH!
And I haven't even mentioed the syncing problems.
I hate NOW software. How could they do this after all these years. Someone should be FIRED!!!!

DVD Capture
Robarm had trouble on 09 Jun 2004
When I try to run DVD Capture 2.5 and error message comes up saying Where is Image Events.app? and list of installed apps, which doesn't include Image Events. Then another message appears There was an error running the script - 1712 AppleEvent timed out.
Any suggestions to cure this gratefully received here or via rob@newdirectionsuk.co.uk
