Cookie Stumbler

Reddog99 reviewed on 06 May 2011
I couldn't recommend this unless you have the patience of a saint. I was plagued with spinning beach balls the whole time I used this. Two clicks was enough to cause a beach ball. And this is on an 8-core Mac Pro. What should have taken 5-10 minutes ended taking 45 when manually editing the listing. One other annoying feature is the inability to enlarge the window.
Other than the molasses behavior, the program seemed to function as advertised.

Simple & easy to use! This conversion program is exactly what I was looking for. Can't get easier than drag n' drop.

iDefrag

Correction to my previous comment: The RAID volume is grayed out, but a defrag is still possible. As a long time user of iDefrag, I'm very satisfied. The program works well and customer support is excellent.

This version (1.7.2) will no longer defrag a RAID volume (volume grayed out). I've reported it to Corriolis.

Installed the 5.10 upgrade on a Mac Pro with 10.6 and app would start and quit with Java errors. Davis tech support advised to use "Get Info" and to check off "Open in 32-bit mode". Now the program runs fine.

If you're not comfortable with the concept of 'building' your own applications and editing configuration files to alter your preferences, then this app is not for you. I gave it a stab and (probably) failed. I was never sure if I had it installed right. Worst of all, I can't figure out how to uninstall the program...

Docx Converter

Tried it on a Mac Pro & a G4 Powerbook. Doesn't work. Either, the resulting file creates a "Safari can't open the page “http://docx-converter.com/” error , or it just doesn't convert at all. Original file can be opened with Textedit.

PhotoStream Sortr

reddog99 reviewed on 17 Jan 2008
Works great, as advertised. It fixed my sets that were scrambled date-wise. But, I'd like to see the ability to sort photos that aren't in a set.

Looks like it could be useful if I could understand the program. Authors web site is in German and program has no documentation...

Safari Cookies
Reddog99 had trouble on 05 Jan 2010
App worked well but Safari became slow to respond after I installed this. It was as if the cpu was bogging down. But I doubt that was the cause as I have an 8-core Mac Pro. Safari perked back up after I uninstalled the app. Maybe the combination with Glims & Adblocker was too much?

Would've saved a lot of bandwidth, and wasted user time just by specifying "English not available this version"....
