I'm pretty sure MacUpdate has a policy against developers "reviewing" their own software, and from previous memory, I do believe software has been removed from the site for attempting to "game the system."

If the software is good, people will rate it accordingly after use. Tooting your own horn seems desperate and crass... not to mention I'm sure a lot of people will pass this software up based simply on your questionable self promotion.

I had a minor issue with my registration, so I emailed the developer around 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. Within 4 hours I not only had an answer back, but Alex had resolved my problem. Not only is this a great application, but the developer support is fantastic. I wish more developers were this responsive and helpful with their products.

There have been a few apps like this, and most end up getting pulled because they do not have the rights to the comics they are collecting. I see nothing regarding licensing in the description. As much as I like the idea, I can't justify paying for this app unless it is established the developer has the rights to redistribute the included comics. Otherwise, it seems it would be only a matter of time until it would be blocked.
