Aquarium Live lite

Razz reviewed on 23 Sep 2011
Aquarium-live-lite plays a video of fish. It fades between scenes and it is very colorful. The resolution is beautiful on my 27" screen. The download is only 93.5MB not 935MB as listed here. (someone should fix that).

It is either on or off - and will display in a window or full screen.

If you like aquaria, this is great because you don't have to clean the filters or change the water.

@BirdiCode: I already submitted the crash log at your site. I did that yesterday. I hope you find it.

As for the half-star rating, I should have rated it 0 stars because it crashes immediately. I am not the only one to experience this. I will be glad to evaluate it when it runs properly.

SMS Boogie

Cute app but why do I need the "low extra cost" feature?
I have unlimited texting from my mobile device.
Sorry guys... I'm deleting it.

RagTime

Razz reviewed on 18 Dec 2010
I used to be a RagTime user and before Apple Pages came of age. It was one of the best solutions for my brochures, postcards, letters and such.
Since Pages has added so many capabilities, I find that I never use RagTime.... ever.... at all. Perhaps never again. The only reason that I keep it is to open older documents. One day I will delete RagTime all together.

Google SketchUp

Razz reviewed on 18 Nov 2008
I created a drawing of a house plan in Sweet Home 3d (a free app) some time ago and wanted to see how well SketchUp handled it. The drawing has walls, windows, doors, some furniture, and other ditties. I wanted to see if SketchUp could put a roof on the house but I never got that far.

It didn't crash.

I exported the file from Sweet Home 3D as a .obj file (the only option you have) and imported this file into Cheetah3D (an awesome app). I then exported it from Cheetah3D as a .3ds file.

SketchUp did not import a .3ds file properly at all.

So, I exported the file from Cheetah3D to a .dxf file which SketchUp did import albeit very slowly. The resulting drawing was tiny in scale. This is not right. I need accurate dimensions. The resulting file had over 250,000 entities - what did this thing do, take every itty bitty line and make it an entity?

As a result, moving around is EXTREMELY slow - zooming and panning tested my patience.
I did draw a few things but lost interest in using it because it's performance on this file was so bad.

SketchUp can be used for *simple* drawings containing small numbers of objects and that's about it. It is like 3D electronic graph paper and it might serve your needs so give it a try but don't be surprised if it starts to balk at higher levels of complexity.

Quinu
Razz commented on 15 Jun 2008
Quinu is so compact and unobtrusive. If you are a Quinn player and are looking for a server on which to test your skills against other players, this little app will get you there in 2 mouse clicks.

(Quinn is a tetris-like game with a beautiful human interface that enjoys a global following. Be careful, it is highly addictive)

Smart Scroll
Razz had trouble on 28 Nov 2009
It looks like Safari and Mail quit unexpectedly - actually happens when nothing else is going on.

I turn off Smart Scroll and the crashing ends.

I'll be glad to forward my crash logs.

This is a slick little program but it fails on file names that contain question marks and radio stations!

Keep up the good work!
