Simple little program for those who like to change the look of the mac. It's one of those things where people see your computer & say "Wow! How'd you do that?"
Why stare at the same old boring login when you can have a quote of the day? These range from Literature & religion, to Star Trek & The Simpsons. It has the ability to rotate the quotes so you don't know what you're going to get if you so desire. Best of all, if you don't like the TONS of pre-programed quotes you can make your own. Editing your own list of quotes is simple (much easier than changing the hard coding as I was doing) & your only hindrance is the speed of your typing. And you can lock the changes so your kid doesn't mess with it - it even auto locks if you leave it alone for too long.
Have never had a problem with this program & have been using it for years. Great job by the developers!
Nice program! After free Greecemonkey scripts in firefox stopped working for YouTube I turned to FLVR. But then I had to use Safari & nothing but.
Now (thanks to my free upgrade since I purchased FLVR - THX!) I can run Firefox again! So far test of YouTube video works perfectly & since it's a different program it doesn't slow down your browser (at least not that I can tell).
Added ability of adding file names & where to save is a HUGE plus! something seriously lacking in FLVR. Now I don't have tons of files that I don't know what they are!
I haven't run a test yet to see if the new program's encoding works for my video iPod. Prior using FLVR I'd have to recompress the compressed files so they'd play on the vid iPod. Here's hoping!
I loved this program & thought it was great. It was so much better to be greated with Donald Duck than the boring Word splash image. It worked flawlessly for months!
Then... my computer started to act funny. After verifing the disk I discovered a warning that I had over 100 nested folders. For months I searched message boards, Apple Care, etc & no one knew where these 100 nested folders on my drive were from.
Finally I found it! They were in the CSI support files!!
Don't ask me how... don't ask me why. All I know is that I had a (seemingly - at least over 100) endless loop of folders within folders!
I (sadly because I liked this program)uninstalled this program via appzapper & the nested folder problem vanished & my computer started to act normal again.
I loved the program & it's execution - EXCEPT for the bug. I havne't seen any updates on this for a long time so I think development is dead. But if not PLEASE fix this problem!!
