It's the old iChat, with a giant message board, similar to dreaded Skype 5. Outdated and uninspired. Visualize Steve Jobs turning in his grave when seeing this. Back to the drawing board, Apple, while I go back to Adium.
The copyright notices on the photos are misleading. It may say 2012, but actually much of the images are 3 or more years old. That matters not if we talk about Smalltown USA, where things do not change rapidly, but in case of fast growing Asia it is a deadly sin to work with old photos.
Now Google may argue you can't expect more from freeware - while their machines are busy perfecting my user-profile in order to cram even more targeted ads into my web browser.
Valid point or not, rather show no images than 3 year old ones and display a notice "no recent image available."
Under requirements is missing: A paid subscription to our VPN service.
The more of these services exist, the better, because it makes the work of cynical censors so much more difficult. So I welcome this additional service provider.
As far as I can see, this VPNOneClick is a basic PPTP 128-bit encrypted VPN. If it works as promised, at USD 20 per it is a really good deal.
Just in case you intend to buy Little Snitch or seek support, please make sure you check the vacation schedule of the developer first, so that you do not disturb his well-deserved vacations.
During vacations you will receive no support, no order confirmation or license numbers.
Today is December 30, 2011, and Intego VirusBarrier including latest update does not detect it, even not when doing a direct scan of the infected file.
The one time VirusBarrier needed to perform it failed miserably, mulitple times.
Intego charge a lot of money for VirusBarrier, and as a customer for many years I expect nothing short of perfection from Intego.
It seems, however, Intego find themselves so superb and perfect, that they do not even seem bother to benchmark their virus database against those of their competitors. IMHO, a very simple and easy, basic, standard procedure.
At face value it now seems to me that Intego in their utter perfection and glory do a sloppy job, leaving me deeply disenchanted.
In spite of 269 days of virus updates left, I de-install VirusBarrier as of this writing, because it quite apparently it is useless, when it is really needed.
@FeelaWAY: As long as the virus is detected, it matters not one wit under what name. So, if SOPHOS gives the virus a different name and still detects it, what exactly is your point?
I first used SOPHOS 10 years ago in a small company environment. They do a lousy sales job, but in virus detection SOPHOS is unbeaten, no matter if Windows, Linux or OS X.
@Jeepee: The whole point of having anti-virus software on a Mac are Windows virii, so that Mac users do not unknowingly pass around virii to Windows users.
While protection against Windows 95/98 virii is of course nonsene, Intego deciding to exclude any *new virus* like this one from their service would be like shooting themselves in both feet - but with an elephant rifle!
For defending against a Mac-only virus you can probably also use Spotlight to find....
Viscosity bundled with 12vpn is support-wonderland. Indispensable to get you through the Great Firewall(s) of China in order to reach freedom from oppression and censorship.
I emailed support twice for problems with their registration number, but they don't bother replying.
I can not recommend any software of any developer with such lousy support.
As this is totally unacceptable, and just as a matter of principle, I may go legal and sue for damages if there is no reply by September 12, 2006, business closing hours.
I have done that before and it was VERY effective.
Companies with this lousy attitude do not deserve anybody's business.
No, that is not what I mean. Whenever I connect to any site, it is clearly visible on the task-bar on the bottom, that Camino connects to Google first. I don't hope, that Camino harvests information for Google?

Having said that, there is just too much that does not look right when using this theme.
But I thank again for providing a clean uninstall.

Symantec has a history of second-guessing.
If they can't even keep THEIR download center organized, what are they going to do to MY Mac?
IMHO: They are not serious about serving Mac users, just toying around.

I guess the only way of disabling that, is not to access pages that use Google tracking, right?
