The one very important thing that GT will not do is allow me to display a fractional unit price (). If I set the prefs to display ALL money values as 0.00x, the all the totals display 3 decimal digits. For example on a postal rate of 14.5 cents (0.145) with a quantity of 803, the line item total shows 116.435. This is hard to explain to a client: "just write me a check for $116.44." There should be a way to specify a format for any numeric field on the invoice, not just a general format for all currency. Other than that, GT is an amazingly flexible and well-thought-out program.
Bugs. Bugs. I went to delete an icon from the LaunchPad database, but got an SQL syntax error. Program is largely untested. Furthermore, the minute I launched the program, I was bombarded with marketing dialogs to upgrade for $4.99 to the Pro version. So I did, but am disappointed because the OS (Lion) needs an app like this. LaunchPad, as it comes from Apple, is tantalizing but extremely basic in functionality.
Mikensmith needs to find something else to do. The constant attacks on this developer are tedious and useless. He should go develop something himself and set it out there for malcontents like himself to throw tomatos at. Flaming is for 4th graders.
Cute. Useless, but cute. No prefs, so full screen mode cannot be initial mode (must toggle). Needs to be a screen saver, not a looping QuickTime movie. I have to admit that it give my wife a start when she saw my monitor on fire.
I am a web devel and this app looked interesting. So I downloaded and fired it up, but the 5-minute demo kept me from ever completely figuring it out. What on earth were the developers thinking? I could not find any prefs to allow a different color besides the billious green as the new default. Maybe if there were more time... Somewhat useful features for the price. Disappointing customer interface. The 'Green' license is absurd.
I bought this about 3 hours ago and have been struggling with it ever since. I finally gave up and deleted the little beast off my machine to keep it from doing more damage. In the first place, it will not sort Safari bookmarks, even when I specifically export to Safari. What is does do is to delete them!
The user interface is convoluted and confusing. The "Recent" files item does not work. At one point I intentionally had 2 different bookmarkshelfs, and neither showed up in the File menu under Recent.
When I first opened the app, I spent about an hour cleaning up my bookmarks. I then discovered that all that work just right back after saving, exporting and launching my browsers. Changing referenced URLs does not work. And yes, my preferences and settings are correct according to the extremely detailed and comprehensive local help docs. The trouble is, NOTHING WORKS.
Check for Updates item causes a beachball. Simply quitting the program can cause a beachball. I am running Mac OSX 10.6.4, and have problems with no other program. I have a been a programmer for 40 years, even as far back as paper tape, and I can read manuals and instructions. This program appears not to have been thoroughly tested, if at all, before been unleashed to run amock in pubic. I wish I could get my $20 back.
