I have resisted this app too long. I prided myself on my abilities with Audition and now Soundbooth CS4. But my last project was so difficult I thought it'd really put CR through it's paces. I am shamed. Even at the default it produced better than my best. Thank goodness my work provides me with SB CS4 or I'd be quite perturbed as CR is easily worth more (i.e. if I'd have paid all that $$ when I could have just spent the $40 ...).
It *does* require reading the manual (and yes, you CAN preview) however the manual could be improved with more screenshots and circles and arrows, more examples, & more explicit guidelines for various issues on various genres (and issues with each).
It's not easy but I still give it 5 starts for "ease of use" because it is so powerful compared to input demanded by the user. And having said that, should one just blissfully use the presets and just accept the results, it might be considered to be incredibly easy to use.
DejaMenu is a good alternative but if you want a mousing only option ME is best. Yes, DM can have a button set but if your mouse has limited buttons ...
Easily the best app of its kind. Easily the best support and response times of just about any app. Easily worth the $$. I bought it within a few minutes of trying even though my favorite stations weren't added yet and my most favorite was likely to present them with some challenge. It took them some trickery but they did not flinch and did get it.
Snake oil. Validity of process is as much theory based as true replication. Yes there is Accurate Rip "verification" but beyond that users are left to accept on faith in the concept.
For personal use as an archive tool it is straightforwardly easy, quick, and valid enough (though limited by extracting to lossless only). For use in a trading world it will never be accepted.
Today uses approximately 5 MB less RealMemory but tremendously more VirtualMemory (33MB for CLockwork v. 179MB for Today). Not a performance hit necessarily but a striking difference.
Clockwork leverages iCal's event management options much more fully than does Today (e.g. edit, more alarm options).
One issue is that the window does not resize horizontally resulting in a faulty presentation of the information. The right side of times are cutoff - only part of the āAā or āPā in AM or PM shows. See . I suspect it will be remedied once out of beta.
A real reeve is shared with Today. There is no way to directly delete an event. At least, unlike Today, you can further edit an event.
