I've been using Sound Studio for years after Sound Designer by Macromedia went belly up. SS 4 works great for editing any stereo (or mono) sound file. Contrary to earlier reviews, SS 4 does save to MP3 but you have to run it in 32 bit mode. This is explained in the FAQ section on the website. If you want an easy-to-use sound editing app with advanced features this is quite the "work horse". BTW, a pause button would be nice and the ability to record Mac audio would be cool too.
