Thank you for jacking up the price on this "free" program! I have WAY too much junk on my menubar, and this has given me just the pause I needed to realize how much I don't need this program. Now I can uninstall it and get back some much-needed screen space!
Posts here had led me to believe that this was freeware. If I had known it was going to expire and force to to pay $10 for the new version 1.0, I never would've tried it in the first place. :(
Actually YOU are wrong, because I didn't say one word about the developer. But now that you bring it up, considering the pricing wasn't mentioned anywhere in the program itself, "clear" from the beginning is not accurate at all.
You are also wrong because $10 is not a "small" fee for some people (myself included).
Actually YOU have proven you can't read, because you are still objecting to things I never actually said. I did uninstall the app and I have moved on, except for responding to harassment from apologists like you.
I always appreciate when people make software available for free... but I do feel compelled to point out that this functionality is now built into Dictionary.app (which includes Forward/Back buttons).
I really wish this were more like $40... I'm not saying it's not worth $60, but in today's economic climate, it's just very hard to justify spending that much.
I rarely see movies in the theater, and I curb spending in virtually all areas when possible. I'm trying to understand your point but I cannot follow your logic.
People overall have less money nowadays, so people overall spend less money nowadays. Yes, that's an excuse - a VALID excuse.
I stated from the beginning that I am not challenging the software's value. I just said that I would be more likely to buy it if it were a little less expensive, and I wouldn't be surprised if there are other people who would do the same.
All rightee, I tried again, and the company wrote back and updated my license this time. The newer beta also seems to work, mostly, as expected on Leopard. The developer is actually specifically asking people to post positive experiences here, so he is apparently concerned about all the negative comments, even though he doesn't seem to be posting here himself.
Am I really the only one who is having tremendous problems with Speed Download under Leopard?? It simply quits without warning over and over, sometimes staying open for only a few seconds before it crashes AGAIN.
I have updated to the latest version, run the "compatibility script," and re-installed the latest version, and none of this fixed the problems.
I'm trying to figure out if this program is the cause of a particular issue that I've just identified. If you are using Screenography and your disk space seems to be vanishing, you might try opening the Terminal and typing
cd ~/Desktop; rm ./.QT*
I can't 100% guarantee that this won't delete any data you actually needed, but I'm pretty sure it is just partially cached data that was never fully processed.
I've had a longstanding problem that I finally tracked back to this program... I call it "iTunes sinking," where sometimes, when you hide the iTunes window when switching to another application - and then you can never get the window to show again no matter what you do, even though iTunes has not crashed and can be sent AppleScript commands.
If you are having this issue, turn off OS9 Window Behavior in X-Assist.
I'm glad I didn't have to get rid of the program altogether - I still really like it. I'm just posting this in case others are having this problem.

Yeah, I'm sure this has some lovely bells and whistles, but it's hard to imagine how they could be worth $300.

Would it be possible to have some sort of auto-forward if I accidentally type http://[my ip]:5010 instead of https://[my ip]:5010?
