If you're getting a black screen after the intro movie, you can command+option+escape to force-quit it, and more importantly, if you hold down command while starting Civ V up (before it actually starts, when you click "Play" in Steam) It will bring up an options window that allows you to change the resolution and switch it to windowed mode! If you switch it to windowed mode, it should load properly afterwards, and work okay.
Best MU* client I've been able to find on any platform! For the longest time it was difficult to find even a passable GUI MU* client for OS X, and you had to either settle for TinyFugue (command line) or one of the many unfinished or soon-to-be-broken clients. There's been Savitar for a long time, but I always found it a bit lacking in features, especially for shareware. I used Trebuchet for the longest time, but it's very, very not Mac-native, and prone to weird glitches from my experience.
Finally, I found Atlantis in early development, and haven't looked back since! It's truly full-featured (tabs, aliases, multiple characters, keepalives, variables, scripting, etc) clean and Maclike, and the developer is very nice and helpful from my experience, as is the community on Riverdark's forums. Any time issues arise (usually from OS X 10.x updates screwing with Perl) there's an alpha release on the forums quite quickly, and shortly after that the main trunk will be fixed.
If you want a clean, easy to use, elegant MU* client, at the very least give this one a try.
As much as I love Camino, I think the devs are making a huge mistake by continuing to work on the 1.x trunk at all. It's actually been less stable than the 2.x trunk for me, and the 2.x trunk is vastly superior in terms of features and compatibility. I wish they'd at least post the betas here, because as seen in other comments, a lot of people think Camino is barely being maintained and have been abandoning it.
For those interested, I recommend http://preview.caminobrowser.org/ or checking out a recent nightly build.
Terrible DRM scheme, wish I hadn't bought it. The game itself is mediocre at best. It's like they tried to combine a bunch of different types of games, and essentially ended up with a jack of all trades, master of none. The gameplay is boring and frustrating, and the only interesting thing is the creator.
(1 because the DRM really is that bad; would give it a 3 without it.)
Uh, is this not a plugin? It's packaged in an installer that requires authentication to run, so I didn't install it. If it doesn't have to modify existing files, could you make it a drag-and-drop file, or at least give the installer the option to install for only this user?
This app is absolutely wonderful! No more raucous squeal waking me up in the morning. No more worrying about whether or not I remembered to set the alarm for the right time. Waking up to good music at the right time on the right days is how an alarm clock should be. I can't think of any ways to improve the intuitiveness of this app, and I can't think of any features it could use that would be useful outside of extremely specific circumstances. It's also never crashed or otherwise had any bugs, from my experience of using it for several months.
Firstly, thanks for this app, it's been of real use to me. Secondly, I had been using version 2.3.8 on my Mac Pro (not sure how, when I think of it, I must've copied it from my G5) until today, when I missed class because it played through my headphones instead of my speakers. I updated, ran some tests, and the problem seems to have gone away.
Was something fixed between 2.3.8 and 2.4.2 that rectified this problem, or is it a glitch of Apple's Sound or SoundMenu?
It's a glitch on Apple's end, from the looks of things. Since I don't expect them to fix it any time soon, I humbly request, if you (the developer) can easily do so, that you add the ability to choose what sound output device Alarm Clock uses. I think if I were able to set it to Line Out at all times, it would always play through my speakers.
Great little simulation game. Though the progression of it (it's slow, which makes sense as the game goes on even when not open, unless you pause it) might put off some people, I find it to be a fun, relaxing game. You don't play it for hours on end, you just start it up every so often, check on things, and make any changes you need to, then just watch your villagers do things, or try to figure out how to solve the various puzzles on the island.
Shows a lot of promise. Question for dev: I died and continued on the 6th level, and all but the blue teleport pad disappeared. Is that a bug, or is it supposed to happen?
Doesn't work on my dual 2 Ghz G5 with OS 10.4.8. It loads a window with no content (just whiteness) and stays that way. I disabled Application Enhancer for it, and checked the console for any other possible conflicts, but couldn't get it to work.
