I find Audacity very useful for the tasks I perform most often (basic such as transposing, change pitch, cut, level volume, etc.) and it doesn't take a lot of system resources.

Agree with other users, the best app to merge subtitles into movies for the mac platform. Even better, when you buy it, you get also the updates for free.
