Running 10.6.7 on an Intel MacBook and tried to male available a Canon i450 via an Airport Extreme. Didn't work! Even after deleting and adding the printer.
My first two comments from before have been fixed, remembering the userid/password for protected pages and the limited recursion for off site pages, but in 2.6 now, I get a lot of crashes (and reports to Apple). Also interface is not very intuitive.
1. Doesn't remember userid/password for password protected parts of site.
2. When enabling recursion, should it really go deep into other sites, ie non-owned but referred to sites? Maybe when you go offsite it should stop at level one.
3. Doesn't like to be stopped or quit when running. Had to "force quit".
Yes, my LiDE 80 really only works with the original software and just barely. There were a couple of updates specifically for the LidDE 80 and they worked, that is CanoScan Toolbox 4.1.3.0 and ScanGear CS 7.2.5, nothing later works.
It is a shame that Canon abandons old but good products so quickly.
I have used VueScan and even though it is Universal, you must use Rosetta because VueScan uses the driver ScanGear CS 7.2.5, which is not Universal and hence requires Rosetta.
Using 1 MHz PB 768M RAM with 10.4.3 it runs very well. Uses about 66-70% cpu when "flying", less than 1% when at rest. Have set up three locations I know at least 3,000 miles apart, Mexico, Canada & France. Loved it! When is official beta release?

Would it kill Canon to write a new driver?
