I tried Quicken Essentials and immediately returned to Quicken 2007 - as pathetically outdated as it is. Intuit took long enough to develop and introduce this update but it doesn't come close to providing the basic essentials of what Mac Quicken users had hoped for.
Why Intuit even pretends to accommodate Mac users is beyond me.
For the very few who are claiming this app is buggy or "created havoc" on their Mac, I would respectfully suggest that you look elsewhere for the problem. When installed on a series of MacBooks/G4's and G5's I have found 1Password to work flawlessly. The developer always releases a new version within 24 hours of browser updates. This has become one of the most indispensable apps I have used since I bought my first Macintosh II. I am surprised that Apple hasn't yet purchased 1Password.
Can someone confirm if Matterform Media is still in business?
No technical support. No filter updates for paid subscriptions. No response to emails to Michael Herrick asking for a status update (which we have been waiting on for over 8 months.)
Their site is still alive however, If they have closed their doors they should let their customers know and we can look for alternatives.
It's highly unprofessional to leave us all in limbo.
1Password is right up there on my list of "Top 10 must have" Mac software.
It's an enormous time saver and takes all the work out of mundane required data entry tasks such as credit card info and passwords. Kudos to the developers who are always ahead of the game in providing updates.
