Why does this encryption application phone home???

Little Snitch warns: "Crypt2 wants to connect to dsl001-148-109.sfo1.dsl.speakeasy.net on TCP port 80 (http)" each time a file or folder is dragged to the Crypt2 icon. You wouldn't know this was happening without Little Snitch. Email to the developer requesting an explanation went unanswered. For a security app to phone home and not alert the user is unacceptable.

Wow! Just discovered I consistently hear a semi-tone higher in my right ear. I'm a musician and I had no idea. I know it's my ears and not ToneTester because switching headphones around made no difference in the results. Weird, man.
