Well. If You have seen my older rants about OF, take this as a humble apology-
Going through the process of what software is fitting my organization concept best I compared OF with Things and THL- the latter has some neat input options but lacks good (and affordable) syncing, Things has the most beautiful interface and looks a lot cleaner compared to OF, but is simply not possible to handle the complexity of my planning efforts, especially at work.
The biggest advantages of this not-so-easy-to-get-started-with software is the robust syncing option through any WebDAV and the complexity one can apply to the structure.
Sync is fast and robust, no data loss ever until now.
Actions can be divided into subtasks and on the top level Folders enable You to group things into logical groups. The view is the most versatile and flexible piece of work: You set all the parameters and then simply save the perspective- this way You can create VERY individual filters that suit the need of the advanced and serious planner. Supposedly, for everyone else the interface is to confusing, as you can also see from the reviews below- these people might be better off with Things... but You will have to settle with mediocre syncing and less power, when the tasks are getting bigger and more complex.
well, about one year short of delivering... sad to see though, because the interface looked and felt really promising- so if You're not already sold to one of the competitors that offer free syncing over WebDAV (Omnifocus) or the web (like Toodledo), test run this one to see whether it suits your needs...
I disagree- as far as I have peeked in, the feature set is pretty much the same and the cloud service is for crying out loud- that's as mean-spirited as you could think towards the customers paying money a year ago...
your mileage might vary, but to me this is very disappointing to see that the major implementation of this software over the last year is a way for me to shell out more money... no applause from my side...
I disagree, paying for an app is a quite INTEGRAL part of using this app (correct me if I am wrong), the syncing interface is THE feature that took it so long to arrive... and my one-star rating is merely a reflection of this otherwise neat app pissing me off with the annual fee thing- and I don't think that I am the only one being annoyed... after all, the star ratings are very subjective aren't they? Seriously, this is really annoying me wishing I'd have never bought it....
feature-rich, customizable, unobtrusive and very good-looking.... works together with Things or OF in respect to task processing... very nice little helper assisting the focussing process... very nice
No, because Things is getting it right without 1. the high price tag and 2. without all the bells and whistles.... I am giving my personal viewpoint on this app I very thoroughly used... and it ended for me in losing track of my projects... now, same amount of projects/ tasks, no hassle... But I agree that it is not justified, I 'll try to correct it...
the most simple way to activate Single Application mode is to download the tweaking prefpane called "secrets" (watch out, the version number for what I mean is 1.06, the other app named secrets manages your passwords and licences...)
after installing, simply enter "single" into the search bar of secrets while showing all tweaks (left menu bar) and activate the check Box.
NOTICE: This single application mode is connected to the dock. That means, if You switch to another app via the dock You have the single app functionality, while, if you switch programs by any other method You'll have 'em both.
If You want the single app mode always, the only solution I know of is to buy DragThing and activate the single app mode in the main preferences... this then works every time You switch programs. cheers!

Isolator
Honestly, this never got me into even spaces, since single app mode and an intelligent app switcher like with do the job for me...
Can someone convince me of the opposite?
