Pros: It has a nice interface, and the world is pretty to look at.
Cons: Very short. So short in fact that it took me completely by surprise. Less than two hours of game play. Most of the time it's just object hunting, and puzzles are rare. Most of the puzzles are far too easy, except for a couple near the end which were unfathomable. Voices are very low quality recordings. The worst thing for me is the accent of the protagonist. It's just terrible.
I appreciate that this is a small team, and it's very nicely done, but the fact remains that it offers little for the price because it's too short.
You have GOT to check out the website. '90s-tastic! You'd think that at $250 a pop they could hire anyone, for just a day, to update it. Seriously, I'm to total novice and even I can rustle up something that doesn't make someone curl up into a little quivering ball due to 14.4kbps flashbacks...
Thinking of becoming a misanthropist, but can't be bothered to manually delete friends in facebook? Install this and watch them vanish from your friends list!
What Kod lacks in features it makes up for in the huge array of languages it can syntax highlight. I write a lot of notes in markdown these days and the only other editor that handles that well is Textwrangler, which I sometimes find too irritating. I like to use Kod for quick edits because it's quite light.
Given the recent acquisition by Microsoft, I'm actually hopeful that Skype will become less of a train wreck. Let's face it, Skype 5 is a total mess on the Mac and Microsoft would be hard pushed to make it any worse...
I've been keeping an amused/disgusted eye on Kandalu, its crapware, and the Kandalu penchant for reviewing its own software for some time now (see my comment dated 16th Feb 2009 on K_Kitchen). Stay away.
I find Dropbox incredibly useful. I use it to synchronise my work with a group of computers, including boxes running Linux and Win7. Unlike the MobileMe iDisk, this doesn't panic and screw up when files are changed rapidly and repeatedly (an unfortunate side effect of writing in LaTeX). It just silently handles it in the background and doesn't bother me.
I can't seem to add favourites in version 2.0. I can connect to server, but the Favourites menu item is greyed out as are all the menu items in the configuration box.
I've noticed this too, but I occasionally have keychain issues anyway so I put it down to that. I'll do a repair permissions before I put it down to macfusion.
It doesn't seem to be working for me. I get the frame of the lamp, and a little lego brick with a question mark on it where the lava should be. I've played sudoku on my dashboard for about an hour waiting for it to kick in, but nothing...
I've got the newest MacFUSE installed. The icon sits in the menu bar, but the submenus are greyed out. None of the non-greyed options work, including quit (so I have to force it). Any idea what's wrong?
Maple is now slow. Labels on tabs and panels have gone. It crashes constantly. Has anyone else had these problems? This is not isolated, as I uninstalled and tried an install on my macbook too.
