Y'know, people, you can download this from the developer's site with no problems...
It's a super-good program for listening to radio streams. All of the necessary features, non of the uneccesary ones, and very good at connecting to multiple streams. If it could parse realaudio it would be perfect, but overall it's much better for radio than, say, VLC, which has an impossibly clunky media library and tends to crash.
Despite Realplayer's bad reputation, it has mostly been an ok application for the Mac--and a necessary one, if you would like to listen to the BBC or a lot of other realaudio-only radio streams.
The final builds of Realplayer 10 were basically perfect, with the exception that they wouldn't play Windows Media streams. It's nice that Realplayer 11 does that, but unfortunately, it suffers from a bunch of amateurish problems.
The primary one is the inability to connect to a number of standard radio streams, mostly in playlist format. Realplayer 10 connected to all of these streams just fine, but Realplayer 11 has (so far) been a big step backward. Moreover, Real has failed to correct these basic problems over many updates, and pretty much every basic media player can resolve those addresses.
So, I've started using FStream, and only drag out Real when I want to listen to BBC Radio 4.
This is definitely the best 7z application for the Mac--I'd be happy to see it able to open with the option to add a file, instead of drag and drop only, but otherwise, it can even preserve a resource fork, which is impressive for an application that uses a windows-originating compression technique.
Unfortunately, it crashes all of the Firefox 3 versions, at least on 10.4.11. It would be great to have a fix for this, since quite a lot of people use Firefox and a lot of us are still running 10.4--having paid for it, it would be nice if it were still maintained.
