I'm not going to rate this yet - Guys and Gals at Parallels the latest release is totally un stable and I have gone back to the Perfectly working original release 11822.
Both my windows 7 and Xp installs are totally flaky and crash as well as have errors with apps loading. Its laughable its so bad. And a pity because I would like to use the new updates but can't because they destroy perfectly working Parallels HD's
I'm running with Snow Leopard on both a MacBook Pro and a Mac Pro. The SAME thing happens on both.... Blue screens. Apps get errors while loading and just overall un responsiveness. I say get your act together and release a stable working update.
It actually does more than I thought - It does the window selection as well where the actual progam windows fade in as the lower preview is hovered over.... Bravo !!!
I'm a long time user. I have experienced no crashing as some of the posts here seem to say. The program is super easy to use and is worth the money if you want a very easy to use bit torrent client. All I can say is it works perfect for me. And this is on multiple systems so don't sit there and try to say it crashes all the time because it doesn't
On both MacUpdate and the other large shareware site that starts with a "V" .... the price for iStat menus is $10. On the istat site its $16. While I know this must be because your busy but its getting annoying because I want to buy iStat for $10 like it says its priced.... but not for $16. Its getting to the point of Bait and switch because this price has been listed since the apps release ... over a month.
Google Chrome is Google Chrome. Its a fast browser with great look and feel. Some of its Technology is amazing and works well. Sepercate web tabs are totally seperate apps so if a tab crashes Chrome continues to be stable on the other web pages.
But this is where the happy party ends. The Browser in its current Build DOES NOT HAVE A WAY TO ORGANIZE BOOKMARKS with a BOOKMARK MANAGER. I have NO IDEA WHY? Missing this major feature is a game killer for me and I would think anyone who wants to use this BETA.
Fix the BOOKMARK MANAGER ISSUE and you have a competent Browser until then Safari is still the best.
I have both Parallels 5 and Vmware Fusion running XP and Win 7. For Games and Apps that use graphics like Bumptop and games Like Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising, ARMA II, Shock Force Marines the simple FACT is that Parallels 5 can run these programs and VMware Fusion 3 STILL CAN NOT. Parallels has come a long way and for this App to have less than a 5 sar rating is absurd. Importing virtual machines from Vmware works. The little interface additions are very welcome, just makes it easy to get back and forth to OS X. Performance even on Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising is surprisingly good. I'm very very happy with this Build of Parallels 5. For the first time in a while I am sorry I am a vmware 2.0 owner. When I can't run a program on an emulator its useless. Vmware only allows you to use 128mb of Virual Vram. Parallels 5 allows 256. Parallels 4 & 5 are just better at running anything that requires heavy graphics support...
Version 3.1 has been nothing but trouble. The new Dock placement is confusing .... the app does not activate when it should. Not knowing that the program is actually running is should be looked at. So all in all a program I rely on dally does not operate. FIX PLEASE
[Version 0.3.1]
