I used to like dropbox but it tried too hard and its gUI went flat then it became a bit buggy and then it grabbed too much CPU whenever I asked it to sync more than a couple of documents, I am drifting back to that old stalwart sugar sync.
Dropbox is popular because it presents in an easy way...just a folder/directory with your folders in it, works well with symbolic links and so on, bu the rest of the guy and prefs let it down. Most of all its the mac becomes unusable when I start syncing anything important like a a few books in my documents folder.
I used this long ago before drop box got famous and loved it but it took a down turn becoming very buggy and using a lot of CPU. I have come back to using it, why...dropbox has become slow and buggy on large transfers it makes my Mac almost unusable. I have tested the latest version on large transfers and hardly notice it, I may yet convert back. Its smooth and a vastly superior GUI. Give it a try.
This is by far the best of the bucket apps so why don't I use it, because there is no iPad App. I use Yojimbo, which is limited compared to Eaglefiler, but It has an iPad App. Voodoo Pad has iPad too and now syncs properly via drop box instead of this only keep one app open.
I go tired of dashboard widgets, bored of apps that bring them to your desktop and began to look at apps that do the same thing. I use geek tools for some stuff and little apps like this for other
I thought i would give the free version a go before buying, just to sync address books across two macs. All set up easily, nice interface/gui good instructions. 1 Major problem, while it says it has synced it has not synced anything at all. Does not inspire confidence
Of course I would change my 1 star rating but you would need to change the description of the software so it clearly states above and on your web page "does not work if you use iCloud"
What have you done to this excellent little piece of software. All this sign up at the website make fruux the default in your address book. Is this going where i think its going which is tied to you and then it becomes fully commercial. Look I know everyone has to make a living, but this isn't a piece of software anymore its a lifestyle choice.

Great Job, I have loved this app and found it useful and had to drop it for a while (see comments further down)
The new app does everything it used to and more, thank you.
