Yet another flawless update on my end (following the recommended procedures, of course).
More than likely, breaking Quartz Extreme over PCI was not intentional, but probably related to the new graphics drivers. As Quartz Extreme over PCI is not supported by Apple, they don't have a computer running it in-house when they test these things. And generally, the other developers that run the test seeds are using newer hardware. So, it probably wasn't malicious or intentional. After all, when you look at the changes list for 10.3.7, none of the changes are, "Kills Quartz Extreme over PCI".
The update appears to update the actual Gimp application to v2.0.6, there don't appear to be any other changes. Changes in Gimp v2.0.6:
"This is a bug-fix release in the stable 2.0 series. It fixes a couple of smaller problems and a crash that occurred with Pango-1.2 (but not with newer versions of Pango). This is the last release in the GIMP 2.0, tree which will be obsoleted by GIMP 2.2 very soon."
I spoke to soon with my last review. I asked for reverse function in which you could enter the chmod values and the appropriate boxes would be checked, and the developer responded with this version in less than twelve hours! Outstanding! This is a great app that "fills a necessary hole" on OS X. Thanks!
Woa, 1.4MB .gif alert! Heh, you may want to change that. Sure, it's nice to have a screenshot, but how about a 50k .jpg instead? Also, I'll echo Anonymous' question below. Thanks for not ignoring the Mac platform, but...why?
Updated in 2.0.5-2:
- added postscript plugin so pdf's work again
- removed unneeded files from package to reduce size
- fixed small theme to use Lucida Grande 11 so it's usable
- fixed bug where gimp would hang if home directory contained a space
The W32@.Netsky.P@mm virus only affects PCs, hence the W32 (Windows 32-bit). You can, however, have an infinite number of PC viruses sitting on your Mac, and keeping my PC friends safe is one thing Virex is good for.
