Now this is a nice app. The dev suggests using it in a multiple monitor setup, but I think it's just as useful if you have just one large display. It saves you from moving your mouse all the way to the top - especially helpful if you're a heavy keyboard user like me.
Two things that bother me:
- it's using over 16 MB of RAM currently, which may not seem much, but still I think it can be optimized better (OK, I know it's a 1.0 version)
- the menu bar icon is ugly - please change it! (I don't need it myself and have turned it off, but others probably will keep it)
Overall it's a great utility that fills a gap in the design of OS X.
I love the speed improvement. There is a problem after waking up from sleep though. The app freezes with the spinning beach ball when hovering the icon, and the only way to quit is to kill the process.
MenuWeather freezes a second or two after waking up, so I'm even able to open the menu before it hangs.
