For those on a budget, this can be a useful app for managing desktop space. Be aware that, as a previous reviewer noted, it merely hides apps. Also, I have noticed a bug that causes it to interfere with mounted cd-roms, especially when used in conjunction with disktool and cdrecord.
"However, when i now run X11, rather than getting the 'aqua' windows as with the 1st beta, I now have what looks like proper X-windows. Is this how the new beta should look, or is there a problem with my installation?"
No, it's your installation that's the problem. You're .xinitrc file is calling another window manager, instead of Apple's quartz-wm.
This app, when used in conjuction with Fink, makes installing Unix software easier than installing Mac software. Programs I somehow couldn't get to install using fink's dselect or apt-get installed with fink commander. Highly recommended.
I can't recommend this version of netscape, not for web surfing. It takes almost an entire geological epoch to load and is almost as slow browsing. It is worth downloading only as an emergency broswer (occassionally it will load a page that won't load Explorer) and for the Netscape composer feature, which might be useful for those in need of a free application for building web pages.
