This one is EVIL! Made my mouse UNUSABLE. A left click became a right click, a right click didn't work. The cursor would move but then a click did NOTHING.
And it was therefore impossible to uninstall!!!
Solution: log out and back in to a different user. Change the date to a year ahead. Log out and then log back in to the original user, and you get a message that the trial period expired. Mouse still doesn't work, but you can use keyboard to select UNINSTALL.
The philosophy may be great, but I caution and urge anybody wanting to try this to boot up from a backup first!
On a MDD G4, not only did TenFourFox render all websites unreadable, but going back to Firefox after starting up in TenFourFox becomes difficult. Previous preferences, logins, passwords, have to all be re-entered!
The last time I tried Linkinus it was specifically for this feature, and not only was identd NOT enabled, but I couldn't connect to ANY network. At least my current client eventually connects after a delay of close to a minute.
>CONCEITED We could build identd inside Linkinus, but that world mean needing superuser permissions, and my guess is most people don't want that.
Anything is better than not connecting. YES! Implement it for those that want/need it. For those that have found another solution, they can ignore it.
>YOUNKIT IdentD works fine here on Intel OS X 10.6.6. Maybe you need to reinstall it after your OS upgrade.
Been there, done that, I can't get it to work, and MANY others have reported the same thing. So many, in fact, that the developer stopped answering e-mail.
I strongly suspect it is an OS X thing, but the developer should try to work it out with Apple, but then again, Apple doesn't seem to care to work out OS X thingies, in fact they make more of them with each release.

Relief after a restart.

TenFourFox

As soon as you startup TenFourFox, your Firefox 3 install is DESTROYED! Preferences LOST, Bookmark Icons LOST, Passwords LOST.
TenFourFox scrambles sites beyond being able to read them, and then going back to Firefox 3 becomes a HUGE HEADACHE.
All this on a G4 MDD running 10.4.11.
Try TenFourFox only after booting from an expendable backup or you may be VERY SORRY!

TenFourFox may get you to switch to Safari!

I, and I'm sure many others would be grateful for easy to follow instructions for doing this.
I myself have tried:
1) Authorize identd
2) Ident Service
3) IdentD
#3 was the only one that worked when installed, but failed after a Mac OS upgrade.
So a method for enabling identd is still very needed! And right now, an IRC client with a built in wait is MUCH more convenient than Linkinus.
