For some reason this crashes itunes on my g5 imac

I first installed the 1.0.4 software on my G5 imac and could not get the volume up/down to go more than one click either way. Installed 1.0.6 up/down volume problem fixed and worked with Mediacentral. Now all of a sudden it will not adjust the volume properly again and hanging Mediacentral on volume up? I un-installed all the bits of software (used pacifist to find them) including playlist, reinstalled. It still will not work, also now it is hanging Mediacentral when I try to adjust the volume up? Help!
