Great little arcade style game that reminds me somewhat of Invaders. Still works on OS 10.7.4 without any need for an upgrade. Pretty phenomenal if you ask me.
Well I tried this update thinking it would fix things so I didn't have to use CrossOver anymore. Sad to say it was a complete no go. If you have this game or are thinking of getting it either get CrossOver which costs around an extra $40 or get a cheap PC. The only real way for EA to fix this is to start from scratch and write it with an Apple recommended programing language.
Well it's now 2012 and after several OS upgrades this little app is still working just fine. How the developer managed to create a program that can go so long with no need for updates is beyond my understanding but as long as it keeps working I'm not complaining. Even Unsanity couldn't do this and they've more or less given up. With the next major upgrade coming up this may change but until then I'm a happy camper.
Correction: Evidently it has been upgraded once since I purchased it. I guess since it's worked so well I must have upgraded it and then forgot about it since I've had no problems either before the upgrade or after it.
Since I don't use this all that much and the current version works fine I think I'll pass on future upgrades until I absolutely need them. In this current economy every cost I can cut is helpful.
Just picked up a copy of this game recently at WalMart and found it does not want to run properly on my Mac Pro. I then went to the Games users forum to seek assistance which ultimately led me, on a whim, to search the Game's preferences folder. What I found surprised me. Evidently EA is using a program called Wine to fool the game into thinking it's running on a Mac and not a PC. To me this is a sloppy way to adapt a PC game to run on a Mac and in my case does not work. I can not in good consciense recommend this game until the developer fixes it properly.
Well it's good they finally updated this but I've already gone on to Quicken Essentials and I see no need to get this. For those who have been patiently waiting for this, if there are still any out there, it will be a time of great rejoicing. ;-)
When I read the part about fixing the Flash issue involving games I thought wonderful. Unfortunately I celebrated too soon. Now it has a new flash issue. When I try to respond to gifts and hit send a dialogue box pops up but never loads completely forcing me to close the box canceling the action. Other than that the games run fine. I don't find this issue on the latest beta build however which is very strange. I still think the best thing is for developers of games online to do is find a new medium to build games with when on the net. Zynga has already done this with some of their games so that they can run on the iPhone and iPad which will not run flash.
Bought a copy today and tried to update it but it was no go. Tried to run it as is and all I got was a black screen and had to do a hard reboot. Posted a message at their support forums but not holding out much hope. This is one good reason I like Apple's App store. If your program doesn't work properly Apple will kick you to the curb pronto.
The latest version is supposed to fix the crash with MacOS 10.7.3 but it still crashes for me when I try to open preferences for the app. Guess it's back to the drawing board.
Can't download newest upgrade from MacUpate for some reason nor from the developer's website. When I tried VersionTracker I also had problems but was able to get software downloaded only to find out it was the version I had. The App Store does not show it as purchased when I know it was. Very frustrating.
I've discovered that Change Desktop and My Living Desktop conflict with each other causing the animated desktop image not to appear. The only fix is to quit Change Desktop.
I downloaded this app and it opens but then I get this message: "Persistent store migration failed, missing mapping model" and new menu item is not functional. I also noticed on your web site help page it's supposed to be a DMG file but when downloaded it's a ZIP file. I've trashed the app and pref files and re-downloaded it several times with the same results. I have an earlier version 1.0 (22) that I tried and it works just fine. Very puzzling and I'm not sure what's going here. Hopefully the developer will fix this.
