Little Snitch

There's a minor bug in version 2.1.3 (potentially not fixed in 2.1.4 either). If you are running Parallels, Little Snitch will block attempts made from Parallels to use the Mac network for the guest OS. However, there is no allow/deny dialogue for this so Parallels outputs an error about psl and quits.

Very annoying but if you turn off Little Snitch, Parallels will launch fine.

Mmm... I thought that as well with 2.1.3 and reset all the settings to defaults and I still get the problem.

Well... this is a great idea for an application. So good, I opted to try it out last night, and today. It seemed easy enough, the support and FAQ were fairly clear. But, for me, it failed to work at all. It would make the connection, and then fail at the user authentication level. I tried again today, same problem. Emailed support, no reply. Called my mobile provider. They explained that with the SE 900 series, even the 800, you don't want to call in, you want to send the CID. Which, doesn't need any user/password information. It also doesn't dial a standard number. It will also work globally. So, now after speaking with them (T-Mobile US), I'm wondering what purpose this application serves me whatsoever? Everything I need to do this was here... and I don't need the application. Odd.

iPod Access

Wow. I often worry about buying shareware software in the off chance the author decides to release fixes and changes and enhancements to their software. It is definitely not the case with iPod Access. I tried this out, along with a lot of other iPod utilities, and I was blown away. Worked as I wanted it to, yet, with much more I hadn't even expected. Great application.

(Not sure why my previous comment was deleted, but it's cool because it's irrelevant now.) Everytime I run this application, people are like... is that you? Live? How did you do that!? I tell them, and then they go download it! It's quite fun... now I can have 'mini one-way video conferences!
