Presently the download link is not working via MacUpdate, or the App Store. Links for SweetP's other apps are working however. Is there a problem with Cookie, or is it just the link? (btw, it's no longer accessible on the App Store)
Aren't we dealing with VoIP telephony here? That's Skype's primary function. iChat, Adium, etc. are NOT VoIP clients with a Skype-out or Skype-in telephony function. Additionally, it takes about half a second to touch command-h and hide the interface. Big problem? This review/comment discussion can be very beneficial, but it seems to me it's also used as a platform for some to parrot other's trivial negativism.
I hear you Xco. Perhaps to an extent my comment was based on how *I* use Skype. I rarely use it as a video client, preferring iChat. But I do use it extensively throughout the day while working. I have consistently excellent quality calling, don't drop calls like I continue to do with ATT, and as long as I'm paying only $4 per month I don't really have a reason to bail.
My comment was to address what I think is the trivial issue of its interface. I appreciate your reply.
I'm with Maclover. When iWOW went belly-up I realized the phenomenal sound palette I had with Audio Hijack (in addition to everything else the app offers). Customize the effect parameters to YOUR ear and listening space, save your effects design, then hijack the audio. You don't have to use the record feature. You can tweak the audio very precisely.
Not to slam HEAR, SRS iWow, or Gen Audio SoundExpander, but after months of promising 10.6.2 compatibility, NOTHING. Audio Hijack Pro does what the others (used to do), and so much more. You can hijack iTunes, customize the effects with DOZENS of parameters, name it, and save your settings as an .fxpatch. You can do this with ANY audio, and create custom patches for each one - iTunes, games, etc. You're not limited to the limited presets the others offer.
All this in addition to the array of other functions the app provides. Rogue is always on top of OS changes, and ko's the competition even when it works. Gotta give it a try!
I wrote Erik because I was having trouble testing Herald out by sending myself an email on another account, but from the same computer - no notification appeared. Then I had my daughter send me an email, and Herald worked perfectly! And by the way, Erik replied to my email in about one minute - donation will be forthcoming!
I've been using MailFX since the loss of mail appetizer. I don't like it nearly as much. I was excited to see Herald, but I too haven't had any luck installing. I've uninstalled & reinstalled, both times notified that the installation was successful. I'm ready to donate as soon as I can get a week or two of solid use. I'm running 10.6.1 on an Intel core 2 duo.
