Great app. Picks up where Finder left off. Many options to rename.
I have thousands of files (sound bites and clip art) that are longer than need be and groups of files that can have serialized names. This app helps make this otherwise unmanagble organization do-able.
It has the ability to use EXIF dates, AAC/MP3 tags as elements in the files name. I'd recommend those interested to download and tinker with it but practice on copies of files before you go to live data.
I think that the Developers other product A Better Finder Select and A Better Finder Attributes should be integrated with this one (A Better Finder Rename). The functions of the three seem to compliment each other very well. I purchased them together but I can see the reason for separating the functions to keep cost down for the consumer and keeping the app interface easy.
The price seems high for a simple function but when you look at the depth of this product it is worth it for those who may have the same organization problem. For the geekier it also uses regular expressions if you wanted to get old school with it.
I later check out and also purchased his other product the Big Mean Folder Machine to subdivide my files into a series of folder hierarchies.
