Best of the movie players or OSX, and it uses the Mplayer/SMplayer keys that I'm accustomed to. The only things I wish for are the controlless compact window mode that SMplayer has, and for next/previous frame to be fixed.
Do I really need or want a picture frame with the software logo on my desktop? No, I do not.
The authors decision to keep one frame with his logo visible on my desktop at all times pretty much ruins this software. (It may be possible to remove or hide the frame with the logo, but it was not immediately obvious how to do that).
I really want to like this player, but it has some real annoyances.
Pro:
+ Very simple.
+ Fast to use.
+ Stays out of your way.
+ Low CPU utilization.
Con:
- *Still* doesn't play AAC encoded with QuickTime/iTunes.
- Could be about half the size it is (even and 1600x1200 it's absolutely HUGE).
- Doesn't remember shuffle/loop settings between launches.
How about a pref's pane to manage UI size, playlist font/size, buttons vs. text, etc.
After reading some of the comments posted here I was hesitant to try this on the auctions I was currently watching. But it worked like a charm! Nailed my last bid with 2 seconds and $0.06 to spare.
Sure the GUI could use some work and polish, and it would be great if the developer used WebKit or something (anything) that renders correctly for the builtin browser component, but otherwise this was a very functional and effective piece of kit.
Thank you so much!
