PowerSwitch

This is a very useful widget that I use to complete the tasks I normally would do manually every time I shut down my computer. Works just as I'd expect.

Invoy

Good start on a very promising application. I'm sticking with my current invoicing application for now but I will keep an eye on this.

Pros:
- Simple, in a good way
- Intuitive Interface
- I love ability to save items, and the item list is incredibly handy
- Documents list should be tabbed like Clients and Items (no big deal though)
- Price "after tax" is a nice touch in item listings

Cons:
- Lacks Address Book support
- Needs a little more in the way of invoice customization
- Lacks Project Timing
- Lacks Reporting Functions
- A little pricey when compared to more mature applications out there

FontExplorer X Pro

Nobody likes to pay for software, especially software that was once free. Put this in perspective though, FontExplorer X is the best overall font management software on the market, do you really blame them for charging? I don't; I just bought my license today.

ShoveBox

kingadrock reviewed on 16 Feb 2009
Great little application. It works well but it has some minor quirks I'd like to see addressed:

- I'd like to be able to change the folder icons.
- I'd love to be able to sort the folders and create sub folders.
- Icons are weak and blah.

Again, those are the minor issues I have with the app. Overall it's very good. It's snappy quick and seems to be very stable. And I love the simplicity of it.

I'm a Yojimbo user, I'd like to switch to ShoveBox full time but the thought of transferring a thousand Yojimbo clips into ShoveBox is holding me back.

Fontcase

Nice application with a clean and intuitive interface, but without auto-activation it's pretty useless to me. Spending several minutes at a time to manually locate and activate fonts before beginning to work on a project is not practical. Add auto-activation and you've got something here.

This is the kind of application that once you try it, it makes you wonder how you lived without it. Brilliant, and incredibly useful. There's nothing else like it.

Billings

kingadrock reviewed on 22 Sep 2008
I've tried most of the invoicing applications for the Mac. I've owned plenty too: iWork (iBiz), Studiometry, and iRatchet. I found iBiz to be buggy; Studiometry was convoluted and confusing; iRatchet was very promising but lacked proper reporting functions.

When I found Billings (2.0) I was immediately impressed. It's the cleanest and most intuitive invoicing application on the Mac. It made invoicing easy, but it was not without problems. I had no issues with bugs or memory leaks, but as others have said it was difficult to edit invoices. I struggled through that once and when they were to my liking I never dealt with them again.

Version 3 of Billings addresses the biggest problem I had with 2.0, it was not obvious to see who owed me money. Now that very critical information is right at my fingertips. The new reporting features are also improved, and I haven't messed with the new template system. The layout was great before, and they've tweaked it to be even better. Overall a very solid update.

Nobody likes to spend $35, but $35 to upgrade a program that helps me make money is well worth the price in my opinion.

TideApp

Very nice layout. Clean design that looks great next to Apple's Weather Widget.

I wish it had the option to show two days of tides though. Perhaps arrows at the bottom to view the next and previous day's tide information.

This looks very cool. Well designed interface and useful features. However, I can't justify spending $20 on a RSS reader when NetNewsWire is available for free.

SuperDocker

kingadrock reviewed on 25 May 2008
I maintain quite a few Macs for friends and family members and a common complaint about Leopard is that the new Application Indictor is difficult to see. SuperDocker allows me to quickly and easily change the Indicator, as well as a plethora of other options with the press of a button. Very nice!
