The text tool function has stopped working. Clicking on the text tool in the tool bar, going to 'Tools > text tool', or 'Tools > Note Type > highlight (or underline, etc.) doesn't work. In the "Add Note" part of the toolbar, the plus highlight, underline, and cross out are grayed out. The Note Tool in Tool Mode is also grayed out. I can click on Text Tool in Tool Mode, but my cursor is still the hand when I scroll onto the document.

I think this happened when I accidentally deleted tool mode, then I went to 'customize toolbar' and added it back. At first I could get it to work by going to 'Tools > Note Type > highlight', but now that won't even work.

Does anyone have a suggestion of how I can fix this? If the suggestion is to delete Skim and download the application again, will the highlights and notes I have saved in documents be lost?
