Adding tabs to Finder is brilliant. But it's not just that, it fixes other features too, which Apple should have done themselves. It adds the cut+paste function for files, the option to display all folders at the top, and the ability to show hidden files with a keyboard shortcut.
It integrates seamlessly with the original Finder, and it's well worth the $18.
I'm impressed by this. It's even compatible with TotalFinder - you can run both at the same time. Although their functions overlap so much, I'm not sure you'd want to. This can do some things that TotalFinder can't. The 'launch as root' function looks useful for power users.
Wunderlist makes it truly possible to manage your to-do list from anywhere. It syncs to almost every device with their apps for Windows, Linux, iOS, Android and BlackBerry.
Syncing works painlessly in the background, and unlike some applications (I'm looking at you, Evernote) it doesn't put up a fuss if your internet is temporarily down.
There are a few more features it needs, such as sub-dividing tasks and calender alerts, both of which they are working on. It would also be nice to color code tasks.
The app is lightweight (uses about 50MB of RAM) and easy to use. Ticking off tasks feels so satisfying.
Simply brilliant! I could not imagine using my trackpad without BetterTouchTool. The ability to trigger keyboard shortcuts is very useful, as it allows you to set gestures for just about anything. There are many gestures available, including three fingers for middle-click. You get plenty of fine control, as gestures can either be global or work on an individual application.
It even does a lot of the stuff BetterSnapTool does. It runs in the background unobtrusively. And it's completely free, although I would have gladly paid money for it.
This current version is out of date and will not work with Snow Leopard. I tracked down a later version. Download it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?lonjelmnlvy
