SyncMate

Jpschuck reviewed on 05 Jan 2012
Looks promising but lacks 2 basic features (in my opinion)
- SyncMate doesn't seem to handle addresses (and miscellaneous informations) from Address Book (Mac -> Nokia).
- "iCal" tab doesn't allow to select the calendars you want to sync or not.
[Version 3.6.1701]

1. I guessed there was something like that. Nevertheless my previous plugin for iSync used a workaround against that limitation : addresses were transferred as generic "notes" for each contact.

2. I'm sorry, I took a look again at the iCal pane and I don't see any option allowing to choose which calendar will be synced. There is no "Sync only selected calendars" in the drop down menu as described in the online help. It's not a problem for me if all the events on the mac are stored in one generic calendar on the phone. The problem is that I've subscribed to several calendars from friends and coworkers on iCal, but I don't need to sync them on the phone. Well at least it was possible to do something like this with iSync.

I will try to contact the support team.

Video Monkey

Jpschuck reviewed on 22 Mar 2011
Nice converter but doesn't handle files with accentuated letters. Looking in the console log shows that Video Monkey creates a command line without accent for the input file, resulting in a "no such file or directory" error.
Also the program crashes when there are too many file in the queue (something between 50 and 100)

Nice App.
Searching on multiple sites in a single query would be a nice extra. What about 6 tick boxes instead of a drop down menu ?

iMkvExtract

This great software will save you plenty of times if you're dealing with .mkv (matroska) video files. No need to use mkvextract in command line interface anymore, here is iMKVextract !

Does work with .7z and .ace archives, but not with .sitx archives.

HandBrake
jpschuck had trouble on 24 Nov 2008
Handbrake seems to refuse MPEG-1 sources with an .mpg file extension, although they're accepted if the extension is changed to .mpeg.
