There is really no need for this, all you have to do is create a read/write image of your files first/ Then to get a backgroung- just add your image to the disk, select that picture in View Options & "/developer/tools/setfile -V PATHTOIMAGE" in the terminal. It is also easy to change the disk icon :-)

But if you want to pay to change the default file icon- be my guest
