All this does is execute the 'purge' command that comes with the Developer Tools (Xcode etc.) from Apple. The Developer Tools need to be installed for this to work (you can also just type 'purge' in Terminal).
I know, and I do appreciate it that the developer has put his time and effort into something that is released to the public for free. I just wanted to point out that you need to have the Developer Tools installed for this to work. ;-)
I like iFFmpeg a lot. I've been using it since the very first beta version, and it has definitely grown a lot!
It works great, it's cheap and as a bonus, the developer is very responsive. He answers e-mail quickly, updates the app on a regular basis and continues to add new features.
For the price, what you get is absolutely great.
It might have been even greater if the binary was included, but if this is not possible due to legal issues, I can totally understand that.
People like Dogzilla should really think twice before posting a one-star review. How can you even post a review without actually trying the application?! I really don't understand those people.
Anyway, it seems that a lot of other people like the app, so that's a good sign. Keep up with the good work!
I've been using/testing iTrash from the beginning. My conclusion: this is a really nice piece of software for a very good price! Compared to other utilities, iTrash almost always finds more related files than the other utilities.
A bonus is the 'iTrash Ghost', that activates when you move an application to the Trash. I find the 'iTrash Ghost' very handy, because I don't have to launch the application.
I've had contact with the developer and he has been friendly and prompt each time!
This is definitely a piece of software worth a try (and you're probably going to like it)!
I don't get why people continue to post comments with questions and suggestions on MacUpdate. Instead, e-mail the developer. He is very responsive and friendly.
You now no longer need to press the Refresh button twice and iTubeX Ultimate now does have a "true" OS X interface (correct Preferences window, About window, and a shortcut to close windows).
However, I have to say that I do not think that PETER_EARTHMAN really tried out all the features that iTubeX Ultimate has, that iTube Grabber hasn't. Note that iTube Grabber DOES NOT have a shortcut to close windows, even though PETER_EARTHMAN says it does... And to be honest, I think he has some kind of relationship with the developer of iTube Grabber. Anyway, below are features that iTubeX Ultimate does have, that iTube Grabber doesn't:
- Watch YouTube videos in QuickTime at the highest available quality, right from within iTubeX Ultimate
- When watching a YouTube video at the highest available quality, clicking the Download button immediately downloads the video at the highest quality (as a .mp4 file, even 1080p YouTube HD videos!)
- QuickLook preview
- Swipe detection
- Conserve Bandwidth Mode
- Add the source of a video to the file as a Spotlight comment
- Save complete websites as images, PDF files or EPS files
- Directly print a whole website
PETER_EARTHMAN also still hasn't contacted me, so I still don't know what he means with "some more tiny bity annoyances"...
I have a MacBook Pro 17" Core i7, but this firmware update does not appear in Software-update. If I manually download the .dmg file, the installer tells me that my system is not supported...
This is a nice tool, however at startup it says that you need Mac OS X 10.6 in order to change the boot mode... on my iMac with Mac OS X 10.5.8, I am able to change the boot mode!
