This update once again irretrievably deletes all custom toolbars in Powerpoint. It took me a good couple of hours to recreate them from a scene photo which I saved after the last time they did this.
I had seen this change already at install. Copying the Excel Toolbars file from the old location into the new location works fine. However, the old Powerpoint Toolbars file will not work in the new location, and its as if the new Powerpoint version isn't recognizing whats in the Toolbars file. Precisely the same problem occurred in the SP1 update. Its as if the file structure for Powerpoint Toolbars has been altered each time.
Thank you so much!! I have been looking for a routine like this for years. Its just what I need on my Macbook Air right after I've run a powerpoint through a projector, then uncoupled and the screen goes back to hi res and all the icons on the desktop get moved about. One click on this icon in the dock, and everything jumps back to the way it was before giving the lecture. Just amazing. Just perfect.
And more - I find that I can edit the pixel values in the preferences file, to make icons line up perfectly in the case that they were not originally put on the grid. And, I can keep different copies of the prefs file with different layouts. Wonderful!
I presume DIM also works in Lion as it uses Applescript? I read that "wandering icons" are an even worse problem in Lion.
I have used Amadeus for many years to edit audio from my lectures, prior to posing on Blackboard for my students. It has been a good, solid and easy to use companion. But as a teacher, I cannot justify $40 to upgrade. Please reconsider. Or perhaps, provide an academic pricing?
This update wiped out all my custom toolbars in Powerpoint. Tried everything to restore, even had another machine with duplicate, but no luck, I had to spend 2 hours remaking them manually. Thanks MS.
