Apple iOS

Joe Porter reviewed on 13 Oct 2011
Back to a non-beta iOS as soon as possible for me.

The cloud stuff might work, but I don't care about that - just keeping he stuff that worked before would be good.

It now says my phone has 13.74 gigabytes capacity. (Of 16). There's also over a gigabyte of "Other" whatever that is. The phone had 4gigs free prior to the "upgrade", it now has 190 mess free.

Hopefully 5.0.1 will refresh all the stuff this broke. Like my inability to insert calendar entries on the phone now.

A thoroughly useful utility. And a really good price - less than a Big Mac

If used in superuser mode it can munge backups - but when used with some sense it is a wonderful tool. I managed to corrupt a terabyte or so of backups - but to be fair I was about to erase that disk anyway so it wasn't a big deal for me.

An enormous improvement. Much more responsive. Loads the CPU hard though.

Still dies on the iMac when resolution set to 2560x1440.
Still dies when trying to load saved games of any length.

But much, much better. As good as the 1.2.x versions

Unplayably slow on a Core i5 iMac. Mouse response is all over the place with a standard Apple Bluetooth mouse. At least it launches which is more than 1.3.2 ever did for me.

Dies when set to 2560x1440 resolution - unplayable at 1920x1200 as mouse lag is so extreme - as in seconds. 10.6.4

1.3.2 crashes on launch for me. Repeatedly - not yet got it to start up. this is a pity as I enjoy the game but it is far too unstable to recommend.
Primary complaints
General instability - it dies a lot
Will rarely stay up when loading a saved game - often quits immediately on trying to load a saved game.

1.3.0 was a LOT slower than previous versions and still fell over a lot. Tends to die when loading saved games. Hoping 1.3.1 fixes this
[Version 1.3.1]
