When you press -Continue- it starts to install several files? WTF? Is this a hoax?
No information what actually is happening with your system.
I do not trust this in any way !
Avoid this.
Other prooved tools will probably do the same and safer (Onyx, iTweax, ...)
This beta actually works fantastic. I used it for about 1 week now and captured every movie I wanted and converted it flawless to mp4. The grabbing and convert flow does the business.
The itunes interface is marvelous and gives appropriate information what is going on.
The new stream window in 0.9.2 is a great new addition. Never seen this before in other grabbing apps and it really helps you selecting a stream when there are more streams on one page. The stream filter still needs some tweaking to be perfect !
Mailed the developer with some suggestions and feature requests. He replied promptly and telling me he will make a note of it.
I gladly give it already a 5 star rating for being a good working beta and to motivate the developer to keep this on the right track ;-)
- No multi channel support (it just quits after pressing convert)
- No 24bit and 32bit support (it just quits after pressing convert)
- Doesn't read OGG and AAC files
- It uses very old FLAC unix binaries. The developer needs to compile the latest version.
- No meta info/writing
Ok, this is a alpha release but it just doesn't work and should be released at this stage.
The interface is lacking in every aspect. Always opening other windows to do some changes. Not user friendly at all.
Results are mediocre to really bad. On top of this it is very very slow to encode. It even bypass multicore support.
This as marked as free but it isn't. You have to register and it cost a whopping $49 !!
To be honest this is a ripoff !! !!
In short : Avoid at all costs. Even when this was given free it would be a bad video converter.
iPhones cannot be viewed with the standard Finder. I play a lot of movies on my iPhone and I am forced to use iTunes.
Downloaded this neat app and iTunes is no more. :-)
I really like the simple interface. And above all, it works perfect.
Yesterday I found Handbrake and used it to convert some movies for my iPhone. Although they play fine the sound lacks some high end frequencies.
Browsed macupdate and found Ivideo converter.
I was really impressed by the beautiful interface. Nice
I converted the same movies with the iPhone preset and the quality was much better then Handbrakes result.
Cranked the output a bit with the high quality settings and I was very happy with the end result.
Lucky for me most movies did not surpassed the 2 minutes limit of the demo so it was a free ride for me. But I surely would register for longer movies.
As of now, this is my favorite converter.
O-yes, only one minor issue I found is the estimation size doesn't always display a correct size.
I needed a converter some small mp4 movies to my iPhone.
Did the job nicely. Although the quality wasn't very good and sound was a bit harsh I could convert the all the movies for free. :)

Much better then the standard Activity Monitor.
Nuff said! This is THE monitor for OS X and it is free too.
Also works on OS X 10.6 without a problem. Always nice..
