First I had (and have again), a rock solid Mac.
Rarely gives me problems, super fast, no spinning beach balls, etc...
After installing this my Mac slowly became slow, sluggish, spinning beach ball for most apps. Launch times of apps was HORRIBLE!
Cant be a coincidence.
I finally got sick of it, did the math that this was the last app install before the slow down, trashed it and all its relating files, flushed cash, repaired permissions, and like magic I have my fast Mac back!
As I said, can't be a coincidence.
I still like Transmission and I will continue to use it because of its excellent peer blocking capabilities, but I get tired of it becoming unresponsive and watching the spinning beach ball CONSTANTLY while in use.
This app crashes more times in Lion than not.
To get a scree shot it usually takes 3-5 attempts.
I will be looking for another...too bad, I love this app.
I luv this little application. In fact I've gotten so used to having it I can't really go without it.
For working it takes the harsh light and tones it down just enough to where its not burning your eyes.
I only wish there was a "whitelist" to add certain applications to that are not effected. I watch all of my video/TV on the same computer and for that I have to wither disable or crank up the brightness, but other than that great app!
I recently hooked up another display in a separate room as my Mac is workhorse, TV/media center. I have it set to mirror. I noticed that Shades is no longer working...it appears and launches on startup, but the key command presets are jerky at best and when the slider is changed with the cursor the value/slider changes, but theres no change at all.
For some reason when this second display was attached the brightness seems very harsh...I've made adjustments, and use another app (for now), to calm this harsh brightness down, but I prefer Shades.
Has anyone had similar experiences?
Response to Charlybaby,
It was so spotty (Shades), that I stopped using it.
It may have been due to the two larger monitors running on a mini, but I don't know.
I started using an app called Shady...runs great.
I've been using Instant Shot for a number of years now and its been a GREAT piece of software.
Under Lion (10.7.2) it crashes. Its a thing that just started happening a couple weeks ago, so it was running (I was using it a few times a day), on this OS.
I've never had problems with LCC, but that may have been luck, and I've had it installed most of the time over the years..
I installed this new version of LCC to fix/restore functionality to my "F" keys on my new Solar keyboard...did what it was supposed to do.

Could be my machine setup, but not for me.

Two questions:
Will this work with 10.5.3?
and
Do I have to have it launched all the time for it to work or just schedule an event, quit it, and thats it?
Thank you.
